CBR and Architectural Alliance Win STARR Award for toto
December, 2003 – CBR and Architectural Alliance were honored with the prestigious STARR Award in the category ‘Design and Aesthetics: Interior Retail’ for toto, a fine gifts store at the Minneapolis – St. Paul International Airport. toto is a 900 square foot specialty retail store that is part of a new retail area on Concourse F of the Minneapolis – St. Paul International Airport. The store was developed by the owner, CBR Incorporated, and Architectural Alliance. Designers used a high level of quality materials and design concepts to differentiate and elevate toto from traditional airport retail. “With its open storefront and welcoming signage and displays, the store goes the extra mile to attract passengers,” Eric Peterson, AIA, Principal in Charge.
The Starr Awards are produced by the Minnesota Shopping Center Association. They are presented annually to recognize excellence in the retail and shopping center industry. STARR stands for "Shopping Center Tribute Award for Retail Real Estate." This year's award event was held at the Minnesota Valley Country Club in Bloomington.
