The Caribou Coffee story is a fascinating story of the evolution of a brand. Founded in 1992 in Minneapolis, the company now has over 258 stores in nine states. In the last 12 years, the coffee house has evolved from a hip and urbane gathering place to a warm and cozy lodge environment.

When the company began to expand beyond its home market, it was decided to develop an Alaskan Lodge theme. Architectural Alliance worked closely with the Caribou development team on the initial ideas, and has continuously refined the theme since that time. This evolution includes the incorporation of warm wood cabinetry, comfortable lounge seating around a working wood fireplace, wood ceiling structures, and a host of other elements.
